ASSESSMENTS & EVALUATIONS

BES Group and Associates provides Assessments and Evaluations, conducted by licensed therapists, for mental health and substance abuse to determine the needs of the individual. Psychological Evaluations, Psycho-social Assessments, and Mental Health Assessments are conducted by all therapists which include Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC's), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW's), Licensed Master Social Workers (LMSW's), and Licensed Professional Counselor Interns (LPCI's).

Based on the purpose of the assessment and/or evaluation, additional clincial assessment tools are used during the clinical interview which could include the Minnesota Multiphasic Inventory-2 Restructured Form (MMPI-2) and the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale. All assessments and evaluations denote diagnostic impressions referencing the DSM-IV TR with recommendations and/or referrals given by the therapist.

For the Psychological Evaluation, the clinician will assess all major life areas, diagnose conditions, and identify treatment recommendations that incorporate potential treatment goals and objectives for receiving therapist with use of MMPI-2 and full scale IQ test, as applicable.

For a Psycho-Social Assessment, the clinician conducts a clinical interview assessing all major life areas and then provides the clinical findings with treatment recommendations by utilizing less stringent evaluation tools, as applicable.

BES Group and Associates also provides Psychiatric Evaluations, conducted by our licensed psychiatrist, to assess all major life areas, diagnose conditions, and prescribe medications, as applicable, with identifying treatment recommendations. This evaluation gathers information in reference to the individual's history, any previous treatment for emotional and/or psychological disturbances, any previous diagnosis, previous medical trauma or condition that may be contributing to symptoms of mood or personality disorder. Once the evaluation is completed, the Psychiatrist issues a written Psychiatric Evaluation and Report that includes the information gathered with a diagnosis from the DSM-IV TR and denotes any necessary medications based on the findings.

Additional services provided in conjunction with assessments and evaluations as determined by the recommendations and admission into mental health counseling services include:

  • Psycho-tropic Medication which is a service in conjunction with individual counseling where the client meets with the therapist weekly to address symptoms related to the initial prescription. The treatment team which includes the therapist, attending physician and nursing staff will determine the appropriate length of treatment since this part of mental health counseling is strictly individualized.

  • Medication Monitoring which is conducted weekly by the nursing staff immediately following individual therapy with the therapist. The participant is evaluated weekly by the nursing staff and the therapist to determine progress with review by the physician at least monthly for continued approval of participation in this level of care. Participants attend weekly individual therapy for one (1) hour focused on relapse prevention, sobriety maintenance, stress management, family relationships, and strengthening of other life areas.
